A spot right out of a travel brochure: quaint town, lovely room in a small bed and breakfast with a window overlooking the harbor with sailboats bobbing in the water.
It is moments like this that I want to savor and enjoy and replay in my mind as often as possible, especially when I am back in the hubbub of city life.
Even though my blackberry was always present, I didn’t allow those annoying incoming messages to take me away from enjoying the moment.
I realized while I was away that I had several choices, I could have allowed work and the intrusion of my blackberry to keep me from being in the moment or I could surrender to the power of just being where I was and not allow anything to keep me from the here and now, gazing at the magnificence of this exquisite place.
Perhaps there is a lesson to be learned about enjoying each moment of our lives, whether we are in Maine or our own backyard and not allow thoughts of no consequence steal precious moments from us, because they are all we have in life.
Are you enjoying each moment of your life and if not, what can you change to start living in the moment?

I love your blog! I can also relate to what you are saying in this post. We spent a quiet weekend on a friend's boat, mostly reading and taking in the beautiful surroundings. I realized that we would not have been more relaxed anywhere else that might have cost thousands of dollars to get to, than we were right there in Long Island. I am determined to keep that thought for my own back yard...hear the birds and crickets, smell the flowers while they're still here to enjoy and just be so happy for what we have today.
